| The 1979 Class Reunion - July 2004 |
We hope everyone who attended the reunion Friday and/or Saturday night had a great time. The committee enjoyed the planning process, and it was rewarding to see everyone mingling and having fun this past weekend.
Friday afternoon, despite much rain, 24 golfers gathered at Pine Acres to play. A 4-person scramble format was used. Everyone had a good time, and we're hoping more golfers will sign up for the 30th.
Friday evening, approximately 80 classmates and guests gathered at Players Downtown for the pre-party. Owner, Jon Pingie, prepared a great hot hors'douvres buffet which included wings, shrimp, pizza, and more. Players was adorned with balloons and welcome signs. A DJ was spinning those '70's tunes. Dr. Fred Smith, Mr. & Mrs. A.J. Comilla, and Mrs. Roberta Sankner were also in attendance.
Saturday night, about 100 classmates and guests were in attendance. After a goup photo was taken, John Carls offered a blessing remembering our deceased classmates. Following dinner, John served as emcee for the "awards" portion of the evening. Golf outing awards were presented, door prizes given, and Chinese Auction and 50/50 raffles were drawn.
DJ Jim Winner provided the music out on the chilly patio. Jeff Barrett heated things up when he performed some of his stand-up comedy. Jeff has been seen on ShowTime and America's Most Wanted (go figure). Jeff will be attending a Comedy Festival in New York City where he may be "discovered" by David Letterman. Jeff's routine was a "hoot" and received a standing ovation. Good luck in NYC and remember the "little people" when you make it big.
If you didn't make it to the 25th, please try to attend the 30th. Some ideas for that party have already been kicked around. If you have suggestions, please pass them along. You can help the committee by continuing to visit the website, keep your address and email current, and help to find some of our missing classmates. If you have pictures from the reunion. please email them to Tom Costello, and he will place them on the website.
Thank you, again, to all who responded and attended. Let's keep in touch with each other. Life's too short not to...

More importantly, you should be coming to the 25th Reunion
scheduled for July 23-24 to ensure you're in the next group photo!!
